About Sâde Gryffin, Ph.D.
Holistic Energy Healer | Ritualist | Facilitator
Sâde Gryffin, PhD, he/they is a trans man and white queer immigrant who was born and raised in Wales. He currently lives and works on the ancestral lands of the Southern Pomo and Coast Miwok peoples. (settler name – Sonoma County, Northern California).
Gryffin specializes in subtle body healing practices, which encompass Clair-sensory Energy Healing, Sound Healing, and Healing Touch. He draws on the wisdom of his Welsh ancestry, alongside his extensive experience as an arts professor, and decades spent providing transformative energy healing in both individual and group settings. Sâde is the founder of The Gryffin Institute. This flourishing wellness school offers a range of courses, energy healing sessions, and psychic development training programs, as well as coaching and mentorship opportunities.
He has taught at several institutions in the Bay Area, including the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). His journey as a healer is driven by a profound passion to serve others authentically. This desire led him on a quest to understand how his ancestors understood their subtle bodies and the energies surrounding them, and to discover their wisdom traditions lost to colonization. This quest inspired his PhD dissertation, “Recovering the Lost Wisdom Traditions and Pre-Colonial Indigenous Knowledge of the Ancient Welsh,” which forms the foundation of his forthcoming book.

Gryffin loves to co-create intentional sacred space and earth-based ceremonies. He is an initiated Awenydd of the Urdd Derwyddon Môn.
He often leads labyrinth ceremonies in the Oakland hills. He built and designed this custom 43ft labyrinth at the foot of Mount Shasta in 2019.
Thank you, Demetra Gayle Fountaine & Noa Mohlabane, for commissioning and assisting in the build of this beautiful labyrinth.
